World Square - Masterplan

Sydney

This full city block development, had an approved plan by famed modernistJapanese architect Kenzo Tange, (that involved building four towers over an extensive full block podium) ,that languished for years as an unbuilt scheme. In the mid 90's PTW architects,  were commissioned to provide a new masterplan, for the site that provided  greater through-site linkage in the form of cross-site laneways that lead to a central, publicly accessible  plaza, that was open to the sky. Diagonal laneways from each corner of the full block, were given special attention at their street entry points.
