Lucca Cultural Centre

This architecture and urban design proposal for a new cultural facility in the Italian medieval city of Lucca comprises three auditoria, central library, exhibition space, offices and retail space for local artisans.The main urban design issues address how to build a contemporary structure into a sensitive existing historic fabric and how to link the new public spaces associated, into the existing open space network.

Design proposal completed during post graduate studies at Columbia University in the City of New York, Spring 1989. Course director: Stanton Eckstut, Studio Critics: Susana Torre & Sandro Marpillero

Lucca Cultural Centre was featured in Architettilucca, 1991 published by the city of Lucca.
